Maui....Finally!

Well, after a decade of talking about a girl's trip we finally did it...and what better place than Maui! We had a great trip filled with lots of sun, shopping, and eating of course. I think the best part was finally getting our mom to Hawaii--her lifelong dream. This is the world's second largest banyan tree.
And this is the world's biggest cinnamon roll!
One of my favorite nights was eating at the Hula grill. The tables are on the sand and covered with these palm leaf umbrellas. We watched the sunset, had so many laughs, and check out this Creme Brulee in a pinapple!

Haleakala National Park

One day we woke up at 3:30am and left for the top of Haleakala to watch the sunrise. It was quite the drive but the sunrise was spectacular. Then we continued on to Hana...

My mom and I went on a whale watching cruise...my sister was content to see the whales from the shore. Then we all went to a luau, which was much better than I anticipated.

This is on the road to Hana...612 hairpin curves and 54 one lane bridges. Wasn't that bad since I learned to drive in Jackson...but everyone once in a while my sister would let out a scream because of a near head on collision. Sometimes you just couldn't see what was coming.

This is Black Sand Beach. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen...and I've seen A LOT! I just loved the turquoise waters coming in against the jet black sand.
The 7 Sacred Pools....Check out my BABY BUMP already!

Grandma Cheri and Papa Jim's Visit to CO

We had a wonderful long weekend with the Grandparents in March. It was filled with new toys, great restaurants, cross-crib, and even a night in with crab legs. Yummmm.Josh treated all of us to the Melting Pot to celebrate Cheri's retirement.
Deciding what to order!
Grams and B in the car.
So Josh's dad does some lie detector tests with his new business, Veritas. He needed to try out the equipment when he was here, so Josh volunteered to be the guinnea pig. This is his face when I told him I had a few questions of my own!!

Sophie and Abby gave B their slide...and she plays in this as much as I let her. She calls it her "house" and brings things from inside to fill her room.
Enjoying the Clydesdales at the Budweiser brewing plant. This one was the largest and quite a majestic animal.
Brooklyn's first beer.
Playing with the kitchen G and G brought (a Christmas present that was too big to check on the airplane).

A day at the Farm and Dress-up

We have this neat little farm on the north side of town. It has a lot on the history of farming and also cows, sheep, goats, chickens (which scared Brooklyn), and tractors to play on. The day we decided to go there was a little lamb born about three hours before we arrived and they also had another one that was just ONE HOUR old. So wobbly and precious.

One day when Josh and I were getting dinner ready and folding laundry, B snuck off to play dress up. Yep, she is already getting into drawers and closets to steal my stuff.

Brooklyn's First Haircut

Despite loving the longer length of hair on Brooklyn, I was tired of all the tangles after naps. So we decided to give her first haircut at 21 months. Just a 1/2 inch trim and a decent cut in the bangs. She sat still by watching Elmo and Ernie on Sesame Street.
