Only in Nebraska...

Where else would you see a tractor unloading a boat into a lake with a picnic table in the water and the American flag?So the Vasa's invited us to a long weekend in Ogallala, NE. We stayed at Nick's mom's house and ate so much delicious food prepared by his stepdad. We had fun playing croquette, ping pong, Wii tennis, and campfires with smores at night. The best part was going to the lake all three days.
Here's my sweet, yet sassy, future movie star.
Getting ready to "ride" the jetski. She just sat and rocked on it.

Getting used to the water. "It's cold," she says.

Having a good talk with Daddy.Yikes, look how HUMONGOUS I am. I still have TWO months to go!
Brooklyn loves to twirl in the water.
Endless hours of playing in the sand with Evan.

Uhmmm, Melissa...You need to rub in the sunscreen a little more!Completely cashed out after a fun day in the sun.
Yes, STILL sleeping.
And finally, her first night back in her own bed. She was so exhausted from the trip. Gotta love how she fell asleep. Maybe a cheerleader in our future?!

Movie Night with Evan

There's nothing better than curling up with your boyfriend and watching Elmo together on a Dora couch with lots of animals.

Weekend Visit by Scott McDowell and Family

Yay, Scott McDowell and Fam stayed with us for two days while on their way to Jackson. It was fun to catch up and meet little Laney. We hit a splash park in Old Town one of the days.
Art exploration after a lunch and brew from Coopersmith's.

Horsetooth Reservoir with Enie

Digging in the sand...these kids could do this activity for days without stopping. Doesn't this look like it could be California??Getting some more water.
Going for a swim with the boys. Melissa and I opted to stay out of the water this time. It was late in the day and kind of chilly. Plus we're preggers ya know!
"Throw me daddy. Up high, daddy!"
More fun in the water.

Grandma's Work Weekend

Well after months of trying to get to Brooklyn's "big girl room" done without success, we bribed my mom to come for a weekend to watch Brooklyn. Josh and I worked from 7am to 10pm for three days straight...painting, painting, and more painting...moving the office out of her new room, moving her stuff from the nursery into her room, and of course some garage sales were hit for fall necessities. Finally at the end, we celebrated by eating out at the Outback. YUMMY! Brooklyn was soooo excited about her new room. She still is excited.Relaxing after a hard weekend of work!
Brooklyn's first night in her Big Girl Bed. She was so happy, fell right asleep after talking about it to Elmo. And hasn't even gotten out of bed yet without asking first. "Mom, I'm awake now!"
Grandma and B showing off her new window seat and toyshelf that Josh built!
I will post her whole room once the paintings and art are hanging on the walls. Maybe next week!
